It is common among most so-called Bible scholars to discount the idea of a universal flood. At most, they say, "it could only have been a local disaster". Examine the evidence to see whether or not the flood had worldwide impact.

From the time of Adam’s creation until the time of the Flood. During that time, mankind built its own civilization, increasingly cut off from God and disregarding His wishes in all areas of life.

  • Men took “wives of all whom they chose” (Genesis 6:2) rather than looking to God’s will.
  • Because of mankind’s self-willed approach and rejection of God’s instructions about family life, “the earth was filled with violence” (Genesis 6:11).
  • God judged that world, and Scripture shows that He will yet again intervene to judge this “present evil age” (Galatians 1:4).

Was Noah`s Flood Universal?

First, examine the objections of the critics.

  • “There is no way that all of the different kinds of animals could fit on such a boat,” they say.
  • “How could they have been fed and cared for?”

Are these critics right in their objections?

What about the animals that were on board?
